There is one thing in my garden this year that's making me happy - raspberries! I had three plants last year (Heritage red), and this year, I already have 12 shoots coming up. The three I had last year produced a lot better than I was expecting so I'm very excited to have 12! Hopefully, they'll produce well this year too. Mmmmmm! I suppose this could become problematic, however, if they propagate like this every year!

The azaleas are blooming. They really make the back more cheery. :)



We had an incident today at Kroger. If you know Kaitlyn, you probably know that she's always looking at the ground for change, beads, or any other wonderful piece of garbage she can find. Today, she saw a quarter and went in for the kill. However, she stooped right by a Kroger worker, who unfortunately did not see Kait and who proceeded to trip right over her. The lady twisted her ankle and landed hard on her shoulder. Everyone kept assuring us that it was fine, it was an accident, etc., and finally we just left. I felt like there was something more we should have done. It was very disturbing to me, and I can't get the image of her sitting on the floor obviously in pain out of my head. Kait was upset for a little while, but she seems fine now. I think we'll write the woman a get-well apology letter. Sigh.
