Our front beds were starting to look like a jungle so James trimmed the bushes today, and the rest of us pulled weeds and took the clippings to the ravine. It looks so much better now! We also had a BOGO coupon for perennials at The Home Depot so we used that to get a couple of plants for the front where some bushes have died. It's too bad that landscaping is so expensive - there are so many things I'd like to do and flowers I'd like to buy!

In keeping with our bug theme, we found a giant praying mantis today while we were trimming. Felicity went to pick it up (she was helping to pick up the trimmings), and then she did the funny "oh-ho" she does when something happens that's exciting or unexpected. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of him when he was all riled up and had his wings out, but I got a couple later. That's James holding him, not me!
