Right-wing domestic terrorist?
I wonder if I have an FBI file now. ;-)

On Saturday, as I've done on a half-dozen Saturday mornings, I went to pray at one of the local abortion facilities. We stand on the sidewalk. We don't shout, we don't picket, we can't even see the people going in because they've hidden the "clinic" way in the back of a private commercial complex. We pray in low voices and hold signs - not vulgar signs. After a year of people praying at this facility, a couple of months ago, some of the workers started showing up outside, watching the protesters. Apparently, one young man has been put to the task of keeping an eye on us to make sure we don't cross property lines. On this particular Saturday, he was taking pictures. So, my picture has now been taken from several different angles (he was very thorough). We were also handed a sheet of paper informing us that if any of us are seen on their security cameras, the police will be called. All together, there were four workers and the evil abortionist himself out and about that day. Well, Dr. Evil was just in his car.

We're not sure exactly what has caused them to get worried about us now, but there are some theories. One is that they are feeling more emboldened by the current administration. On a related note, pro-lifers are feeling more threatened by the current administration, and the number of people who show up to protest is growing. (Side note: there were 20 teens from a local Catholic academy who were there until about 20 minutes before the cameras came out.) Perhaps the increase in the number of protesters is making them skittish. Or perhaps it is simply a decrease in business. When people first started coming to this facility to pray, there was an average of 30 abortions every Saturday. Lately, it's been in the teens. This Saturday, there were 6 or 7. I certainly can't say that it's our presence bringing the numbers down, but we'll take it. Even if it means that pictures of me are now in their right-wing radical hall of fame.
