Pot Holders

When I was making aprons for Christmas presents, my neighbor had expressed an interest but had said that her mom was making her one for Christmas. Well, her mom never got around to it. I decided to make her one for her birthday. I've been eyeing a pattern for pot holders since right after Christmas so I thought I'd make her some to match her apron.

Here's my first one. I'm only showing you the "nice" side - the other side is a little sloppier. I'll have to work on my edges. I think the biggest problem with this one is that it might be a little too thin. As per the directions, I used a piece of terry cloth towel in the middle of it, but it just seems too flimsy. Of course, if I try to make it thicker, I'll probably have to change out my presser foot and/or the needle and/or change the settings on my machine, and I'm scared to mess with that stuff! LOL. Maybe I'll try a double layer of the towel for the next one.
