Happy Halloween! But before we do that, I wanted to note that we did get a letter from the doctor about James's Whole Body Scan (WBS), and there was "no evidence of residual or metastatic thyroid cancer." Woohoo!

Halloween costumes this year were a little....half-arse? Yes, I am cheap. Jeremy wanted to be Mario, and thankfully, we already owned everything we needed for that costume. Kaitlyn wanted to be Princess Peach...that was a bit more difficult. We needed a blonde wig, but last time we had a wig for her, she didn't even wear it because it was so itchy. I decided to make one out of yarn instead. Ha! It turned out ok, but I wish I had used a better base. The suggestion was for a baseball cap with the bill trimmed off, but I used a knit cap instead. And, of course, it would have been much better if I'd had one that was the same color as the "hair." We found a skirt at Goodwill that Kait liked even if it's not overly "Princess Peach-esque." We made her crown out of cardboard - the poor girl. And Felicity was the same flower that Kait was when she was a wee one, but this time, we called her "Flower Power" to fit in with the Mario Brothers theme.

It was an interesting night. They have no set hours here - unlike Illinois. So, everyone basically waits until dark or at least until it's dusky. This means 6:30 or 7:00. We went with our neighbors who also have a young baby (and no daddy at home at this time of night) so we went out at 5:30. No one was ready, and I felt very badly! We ended up dawdling and wasting time so that we wouldn't be the first ones, and we didn't get home until 7. Then, I had to try to get the baby fed and to sleep while Kait and JJ handed out treats. Yes, it made me nervous to be upstairs while they were downstairs with trick-or-treaters! Felicity hasn't been going down well lately either so that added to the fun. Anyway, it's over. We got lots of cheap gross candy and hardly any of the good stuff (IMO!). I'll have to go buy myself some Milky Way or 3 Muskateers, I guess!
