Well, yesterday was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day! Especially for my poor husband. He did manage to get an appointment with his new endocrinologist. She seems really great (I didn't meet her, but I did get to talk with her on the phone for a while), and they're up on the newest technology here, which is wonderful. As of now, his iodine radiation treatment is set for Oct. 11. He has to go on a special low-iodine diet from now until Oct 19, and it's a doozy! No eggs, no dairy, no bread (unless I make it special), only certain meat, no fish of any sort, no red dye (which means none of his precious Coke!), and pretty much no restaurant food since it's all full of possibly iodized salt. I'm sure I'm forgetting some of it. He spent many hours in the car driving too and from the doctor. That ran over so he was going to be late getting back to work. BUT he heard metal-on-metal from the car brakes so we had to take that in as well. The brakes combined with his lateness meant that we ended up going with him back to his Uncle's so that he could run his errands on time. After a few more mishaps, we didn't end up getting back home until 9 last night. And the poor guy didn't eat hardly anything because all he could get at the fast food restaurant was a salad. So, once I figure out what he can eat and what he can't, I'll be off to the grocery store to pick up the appropriate items. Let us all pray he can survive the next month or so with all the job stress, cancer stress, driving stress, bill stress, and low sleep. His blood pressure was high, which is his typical response to stress!
